Bridges is the Michelin Star restaurant at Sofitel Legend Amsterdam The Grand. Although I did not get a chance to enjoy the seafood and wine the restaurant is famous for, I did indulge myself in a truly royal breakfast, the three days I was a guest at the hotel. From traditional Dutch pancakes to delicious French Crêpes, pastries and freshly baked breads, as well as different kinds of cheese served with juice and coffee of course, I tried everything! The good-looking young fellow who was so prompt and efficient in his service (even though he could not click good pictures of me!), also brought me a glass of champagne. And I have to mention the very gentlemanly Italian manager of the restaurant who helped me pack some extra breakfast for my flight the day I was checking out!
The restaurant which used to be the canteen of the former Town Hall, is located on the oldest canal of Amsterdam. The water of the canal was also the inspiration for French interior designer Christophe Daudré for redesigning the interiors of the restaurant. Within a few months of opening, Bridges, inspired by Ron Blaauw was heralded as one of the best restaurants in the Netherlands, and in 2013 received a Michelin star.
My camera is always ready to take pictures - there was no way I could miss this very indulgent 10 course breakfast in one of the finest restaurants in Netherlands!
