I spent my first two nights in Tokyo at an Airbnb in Ginza, the most popular upmarket shopping, dining and entertainment district in Tokyo and one of the most expensive real estate's in Japan. As it turned out, even though I was in the center of the most fashionable neighbourhood in Japan, my Airbnb home was so small that I could hardly even open my suitcases. After two days of being miserably crammed in this tiny apartment, I decided to use my Hilton Honors points and checked into the Hilton Odaiba Hotel for my last night in Tokyo.

Set on the waterfront, with gorgeous views of Tokyo's skyline and the famous Rainbow Bridge, the Hilton Tokyo Odaiba is in close proximity to popular theme parks, malls, dining and entertainment districts including Shinagawa and Ginza. A complimentary shuttle runs daily between the hotel and the Tokyo Disney Resort. The Daiba Metro Station is right in front of the hotel and connects to Shimbashi in 15 minutes with the Yurikamome line.

I arrived at the hotel before the check-in time and enjoyed a delicious buffet lunch at the hotel's Executive Lounge while my room was being prepared. The staff at the front desk gave me a complimentary upgrade to a King Superior Deluxe Room with floor to ceiling glass windows and my own private balcony. The next morning I enjoyed waking up to the Tokyo sunrise and having coffee in bed while watching the sky change colors from orange to blue over the Rainbow Bridge and the Tokyo Tower.

The hotel has a very impressive fitness and spa area with a state-of-the-art swimming pool, outdoor and indoor whirlpool baths, aroma mist sauna and dry sauna. While the use of the gym is complimentary for the hotel guests, the spa and pool can be used for a charge. The outdoor whirlpool bath offers incredible views of the Tokyo skyline and is definitely worth experiencing if you are staying at the hotel. Sunset and night time views are especially spectacular.

I did not have enough time to enjoy the hotel's restaurants but savoured a delectable buffet breakfast with a choice of Japanese, Indian and European style dishes on the day of my checkout.
