After a long day of travel from Kyoto, changing trains and buses, I arrived at Hotel Mystays Fuji Onsen Resort very late in the night. The front desk team was warm and hospitable and after check-in, helped me book a massage later in the night at their favorite salon nearby.
The hotel which is located in the Fujiyoshida region, is a 5 minute walk from Fujikyu Highland and a short drive to Lake Kawaguchiko. The hotel boasts incredible views of Mount Fuji, Arakurayama Sengen Park or Koshu wine country, which are all located in close proximity of the hotel. Also, Gotemba Premium Outlets, one of the best shopping destinations in Japan, is a 45 minute drive from the hotel. The hotel's onsen (hot bath) is spotlessly clean offering spectacular views of Mt. Fuji. The hotel's restaurant called Terrace Dining "Chef's Recipe" offers delicious buffet breakfast and a sumptuous dinner, and is probably one of the best places to eat in the area.
I had a Mount Fuji view room at the hotel and the views of the mountain from the room were quite fantastic! I was lucky to get clear weather on the days I was visiting Fuji, perfect for viewing Mt. Fuji. I also enjoyed the hotel's onsen bath very much and went there everyday during my stay at the hotel. It was an amazing way to relax and unwind at the end of the day while gazing out at Mt. Fuji. The room also provided pajamas that I could wear around the hotel. They came in handy for my regular onsen visits. The scrumptious evening buffet was the best part of my stay at the hotel. From udon and buckwheat noodles to sushi and tempura, I enjoyed tasting all different kinds of Japanese food, from my window side table facing Mt. Fuji.
