I recently got myself the new iPhone 7Plus and I have to say that it has an incredible camera. I was staying in Pacific Palisades in Los Angeles for a week and my room had a view of the ocean. It gave me a good opportunity to try out the camera from my new phone. Even though I cannot compare the results to a DSLR, it is an excellent camera for wide-angle as well as portrait photos and has a very good shallow depth of field. Here are some pictures of the ocean and the highway at different times of the day, all taken from the iPhone 7 Plus camera. At the end of the post, I have also included a shot to show the excellent shallow depth of field effect that works in portrait mode.
