Hanalei Bay is the largest bay on the north shore of the island of Kauai. The town of Hanalei is at the midpoint of the bay. It consists of long stretches of sandy beaches (almost two miles) and the bay itself is surrounded by mountains. Hanalei Pier is a pier built into the Hanalei Bay and fronts Black Pot Beach Park, a popular area for local gatherings and camping for local families.

1. Activities

Activities include swimming (summer), surfing, walking, running and beach combing. 

2. Facilities

The beach is equipped with restrooms, pavilion, showers, picnic tables and BBQ grills. 

3. Safety 

Safety on the beach is moderate to dangerous due to dangerous shore breaks in the winter. 

4. Driving directions

Drive on Highway 56 into Hanalei Valley, then take a right on Aku road and then right on Weke road. It is located at the end of the Weke road.
