The strong currents make it unfit for swimming. You can stop at the Wailua Beach and the Opaeka'a Waterfalls while driving up to the Loop Road or the Keahua Arboretum.

Thanks to Jonathan Moeller, Kauai's top wedding photographer (www.jmoellerphoto.com) for driving me to the Wailua Beach (and the coffee and croissant!), for taking all the pictures in this post and also for making a great drone video of the beach (at the end of the post)!
