The Americana at Brand is a large shopping, dining, entertainment and residential complex in Glendale, near Los Angeles in California. There are several things I like about the Americana, and some of them are:
I love clothes and the mall has several of my favorite fashion stores like Anthropologie, Lululemon Athletica, Chicos, Jcrew and Barney's New York. It also has an Uggs store and a Nordstrom. The great brands combined with the ambience of the open-air mall, makes for a great shopping experience.
With train rides for kids and animated fountains that dance to the music of Judy Garland, Frank Sinatra and Andrea Bocelli, it is a great place to spend an evening with family and kids. There is also a movie theater offering 3D and Monday morning mommy movies.
4. Barns & Noble
Another attraction for me at the Americana is the huge Barnes & Noble store there. Since everything has become digitalized, it is very difficult to find nice bookshops. Barnes & Noble is perhaps one of the few bookstores still left with a great selection. It also has a nice Starbucks café.
The mall offers free parking for the first hour, but remember to get your ticket validated at one of the stores. The parking charges after the free one hour parking are (as per 2017):
- 61 to 75 Minutes - $3
- Each Additional 15 Minutes - $1
- Daily Maximum - $18
They also offer valet parking and the rates are (as per 2017):
- 1st - 2nd Hour: $10
- Every half hour: $2
- Daily maximum: $24
