High tea which is different from afternoon tea, is an English dining custom, where tea is served at the table with high back dining chairs in the late afternoon. I was recently a guest at the Coworth Park, Dorchester Collection's luxury country house hotel & spa near London, and enjoyed high-tea in their elegant drawing and dining room with stunning countryside views. Coworth Park is nestled amid 240 acres of picturesque Berkshire parkland at Ascot.
While deciding what to wear for high tea at a 5 star luxury hotel where for all you know, you might run into Bradley Cooper, I want to be dressed right. Neither do I like to stand out in the crowd by overdoing it, nor make myself feel uncomfortable by dressing up wrongly. My style is understated yet elegant and I feel it works for me most of the time. Make up is usually minimal. For my high tea afternoon at Coworth Park, I chose a black, embroidered, fit and flare Karen Millen dress with matching black Karen Millen sandals. I completed the look with a neutral color trench, also from Karen Millen and a black Burberry bag.
Here are some pictures from the high-tea afternoon.
